Marcin Szuba's works are reflections of his life, transformed into visual metaphors. The process of painting is inspired by music, especially opera: he attempts to generate the energy and movement of music using colour.

Marcin Szuba - Voyage

For Marcin painting is a way to show the innermost thoughts and emotions he does not usually share with anyone else. His work is not pre-determined: he works from imagination and the outcome is always unknown. He is interested in brush marks and gestures and his paintings are made of several layers, with each layer developing or contradicting the previous one.

Marcin has an MA in painting from Nicolas Copernicus University in Torun, Poland, and currently lives and works in Sheffield.
