This is Steve Withington's first photographic exhibition for over ten years.
The subject is the wood in the Burbage Valley to the west of Sheffield.
Planted in the late 1960s, the wood was found to be unmanageable due to its location and has been left to its own devices. Because of this, it seems to have a timeless quality despite its relatively young age.
Steve exhibited his work on the streets of Sheffield throughout the 1990s. These were photographic explorations of the Peak District made using monochrome film. This time Steve attempts to capture the atmosphere and light in the wood using colour digital.
