OS AUDIO

OS AUDIO is Access Space's sonic arts programme, consisting of a month-long residency, 4 commissions, audio workshops and the f5 live event.

The OS Audio resident artist is Steven Pickles - aka Pix.
Pix's residency is focussing on the development of the audio engine for the Fijuu project (fijuu.com). The current version uses PureData as a sound engine, and the aim of the residency is to redevelop it using using SuperCollider3.

In fijuu, the players warp and twist 3D models, and their accompanying sounds using the two analog joysticks on a PlayStation-style game controller. Each of the shapes which the players interact with behave as a kind of virtual musical instrument.

Pix has worked on a huge number of projects in recent years, through generative Java animations, to performing with Austrian artist collective farmersmanual, and we are very pleased to have him working with us at Access Space.
