Artist in Residence call
Access Space is looking for an artist or artist-researcher to be resident for fifteen days between September 11th and October 4th 2018.
This year’s theme is Postdigital.
Deadline for applications Sunday 22nd July 2018 at midnight BST.
Please send a project or research proposal of no more than 500 words which clearly demonstrates how your work relates to the theme, a production budget (if needed), and your preferred dates. Please ensure that you list any equipment, software or technical requirements, and any technical support you will need clearly. Please also tell us what equipment and software of your own you intend to bring with you to use.
Although the fifteen days need not run concurrently they will need to be between the dates September 11th and October 4th 2018. Please note that the time period is not flexible.
We would like you to give a talk about your work at some point toward the end of your stay and document the residency online. Please also tell us what the proposed outcome of the residency is e.g. a performance, artwork, exhibition, document, event of some kind etc.
You will be able to use our main space (see https://www.facebook.com/pg/accessspace/photos/) for periods during the residency. We also have access to other spaces for exhibitions or performances.
Access Space also has Refab Space (http://madeataccy.tumblr.com/), one of the first maker spaces in the UK, with a laser cutter and cnc router, digital embroidery machine, vinyl cutter, workbench facilities, hand tools, Arduinos and electronics which you will be welcome to use to create anything for your work.
Please put your name, address, phone number and email at the end of the proposal together with your website url and/or web addresses of online examples of previous work.
We will accept pdf format documents only.
