Hello Shenzen!

During March 2017 we hosted a residency from Rachel Hu, visiting us from Shenzhen, China. Rachel spent her time exploring repair culture, Sheffield’s creative scene and working on projects at Access Space.
Rachel’s stay in Sheffield was part of Hello Shenzhen, a bilateral residency exchange programme connecting makers in the UK and China. It is a partnership between the British Council, The Shenzhen Foundation for International Exchange and Cooperation and Shenzhen Open Innovation Lab.

While she was here Rachel spent some time learning how to live code TidalCycles with Alex McLean, and they ended up collaborating on a performance streamed to the world as part of the Algorave fifth birthday celebrations:
